Pressure sensors are usually tested after they are produced. Some customers are also used to testing them when they get pressure sensors. However, customers generally do not have system components and measurement tools to perform tests. Generally, they use a multimeter to perform some tests. Testing. How to use a multimeter for simple detection?
Measuring the pressure sensor with a multimeter can only perform some simple tests, and the results of the test can only provide a reference. Multimeter measurement can roughly carry out three tests.
One is the detection of the bridge, mainly to detect whether the sensor's circuit is correct, there is no error, generally is the detection of Wheatstone's full-bridge circuit, we use the multimeter's Ohm file to measure, the amount of impedance between the input terminals, And the impedance between the output terminals, these two impedances are the input and output impedances of the pressure sensor.
If the measured impedance is infinity, then prove that the bridge is disconnected, indicating that there is something wrong with the sensor or the definition of the pin is not correct.
The second is the zero point detection, which is measured with the voltage profile of the multimeter. We generally measure the zero output value of the sensor when no pressure is applied. This output is typically a mV voltage. If the measurement exceeds the sensor's specifications, then the sensor's zero deviation is out of range.
The third is pressure detection, the simple method is: We supply power to the sensor, blow the pressure sensor's air hole with the mouth or gas, and then use the multimeter's voltage file to detect the change of the voltage value at the output end of the sensor. If the relative sensitivity of the pressure sensor is large, this amount of change will be significant. If there is no change at all, then you will need to use pressure sources to apply some pressure measurements.
Using the above three aspects, it is basically possible to detect the general condition of a pressure sensor. If the detection needs to be more accurate, a standard pressure source needs to be used to deliver the pressure to the sensor, and the sensor is calibrated according to the magnitude of the output pressure and the variation of the output signal value. With the conditions permitting, temperature detection of related parameters is performed.
